Anti-Theft

Why should I always keep Anti-Theft enabled?
The Anti-Theft feature of Fonetastic protects the data in your mobile when it is lost or stolen. It enables you to block the device making it useless for someone else. It also helps you block your phone on SIM change, remotely wipe its data, and trace the device's location.
I've lost my mobile device. Is it possible that I can block my mobile remotely?

Yes, you can remotely block your mobile device if it gets lost or stolen. Simply send the following messages from any mobile to the lost mobile:
BLOCK PIN (For example – BLOCK XXXX)
Or send only BLOCK command without PIN from your alternate contact which you have added in Antitheft.
Or send a LOCK command from RDM if you have configured your RDM account.
Or Call Support and ask them to Block the device.

When I lost my mobile device, I blocked it. Now I have got it back. Is it possible that I can unblock my blocked mobile?
Yes, you can do so by sending the following message from any mobile to the lost mobile.
UNBLOCK PIN (For example – UNBLOCK XXXX)
Or send only UNBLOCK command without PIN from your alternate contact which you have added in Antitheft.
Or send a UNLOCK command from RDM if you have configured your RDM account.
Or Call Support and ask them to Unblock the device.
I want to unblock my phone but I have forgotten my password. How can I do this?

If you have forgotten your PIN, you can reset it. To reset your PIN, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Unblock phone.
  2. Tap Forgot PIN.
  3. The Forgot PIN screen appears.
    1. A temporary PIN will be sent to your alternate mobile number(s). You can also reset the PIN through Quick Heal RDM. Its URL is shown on the screen.
    2. Note: Carrier charges may apply.
  4. Tap OK. Message will be sent to your alternate mobile number(s).
  5. Check the message in your alternate mobile number(s). Insert the temporary PIN on your Enter PIN screen. Tap Unblock button. The Reset PIN screen appears.
  6. Type a new PIN and then retype it in the Confirm PIN field.
  7. Tap Submit.

OR

If you have forgotten your PIN, you can reset it. To reset your PIN, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Unblock phone.
  2. Tap Forgot PIN.
  3. The Forgot PIN screen appears.
  4. Select the Google Authentication option.
  5. A screen will be displayed to enter your google account password which is added in your device.
  6. Tap Submit and device will be unblocked.

OR
Send only UNBLOCK command without PIN from your alternate contact which you have added in Antitheft.

Where will I find captured photo, audio and video if my device is lost or stolen?
The captured photo, audio and video are sent to your email address which is added in the Fonetastic application.
I use multiple SIMs to avoid roaming charges. Can I change SIMs without getting my mobile blocked as it is so for Fonetastic for Android?
Fonetastic has a feature in Anti-theft that blocks your mobile device if its SIM is changed. However, if you use a dual-SIM device or multiple SIM cards, you can create a Trusted SIMs list. You can add up to 50 SIMs to the Trusted SIMs list, so that you can change SIM as and when required without getting your device blocked.
How to unblock my blocked mobile/tablet device?
To unblock the device in case the device is blocked by mistake or you got back your lost or stolen device and want to unblock it, send this command: UNBLOCK PIN (For example – UNBLOCK XXXX)
How to block my unblocked mobile/tablet device?
To block the device remotely if it is lost or stolen, send this command: BLOCK PIN (For example – BLOCK XXXX)
How to configure Anti-theft feature?

To enable the Anti-Theft option, follow these steps:

  1.  Open Fonetastic.
  2. Tap the arrow given at the bottom of the Home screen. Dashboard is displayed.
  3. Tap Secure, and then tap Anti-Theft. The Anti-Theft screen is displayed.
  4. Tap the Anti-Theft option to enable it.
  5. The Set PIN screen is displayed.
  6. Enter New PIN, Re-enter New PIN and then tap Save. If you have already set the PIN through the other options, the Recovery Contacts screen is displayed.
  7.  Tap Add from Contacts to add alternate contacts. You can set up to two alternate contacts.
  8.  Select the contact from the device contacts or phonebook, and then tap Add.
  9.  Tap Next, and then tap Done. The Anti-Theft option is enabled.
