Security & Auto Updates Quick Heal releases regular security and auto-updates which will include new features, latest IPS signatures. The updates are applied automatically.
Web Activity Report QHHS provides a detailed report of children’s or other users’ activity on the Internet such as websites accessed and devices used.
Device Knob QHHS blocks any suspicious or undesired Internet activities by any device: data hogs or undesired website accesses with just a tap on the UI/mobile app.
Individual Guest Credential

With individually assigned Wi-Fi login credentials, each guest may be restricted differently based on restrictions applied. Each Guest session can accommodate 25 Guest users in QHHS.

Guest Wi-Fi access can be scheduled to control Internet access.

  • ISP internet cable should be connected to the WAN port.
  • Before connecting to HS-Unbox SSID, make sure that Wi-Fi LED is ON.
  • Keep your credentials ready with you.

The Service LED will change its color from Orange to Green when the admin will check the notifications displayed on dashboard.

  • Once the QHHS device is unboxed and switched on, it requires an active internet connection either through WAN/USB PORT, so that the user can proceed further with the Activation Process of the device.

Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the other router and other end of the Ethernet cable to the WAN port of the QHHS router.

  • The QHHS router automatically takes backup of the configuration after every 30 minutes and stores it on the cloud.
  • The manual backup option is used to store backup on the local machine of the user.

Users are advised to enter the correct user details and note them down for future reference as they cannot be edited later.

Yes. User can renew the license in either of the following ways.

  • Online: To renew license, visit the link https://www.quickheal.co.in/quick-heal-product-renew/.
  • From QHHS portal:To renew license, follow these steps:
    • Log in to the QHHS portal.
    • Click on Information Section (User Icon) on the top right corner.
    • Click About Us and then select Renew Now.

System Requirements?

  • Power connection to connect QHHS Adaptor.
  • To use QHHS device you must have the following:
    • An active internet connection (Cable, Broadband, Dongle, USB Modems).
    • Mobile devices (Laptops and Mobile Phones with WI-FI connectivity).
    • Smart devices (TV, AC etc.) - Not mandatory.

Yes. QHHS supports 2G/3G/4G modems. Currently, QHHS supports the USB-dongle of the following ISP: Airtel, Idea, Jio, Reliance, Vodafone.

  • You can add up to 10 devices to the QHHS device.

User can connect to the QHHS router by using the ADSL to LAN converter.

Activation

  • Ensure the device is switched ON.
  • Connect the device to internet connection (using WAN/USB Port).
  • To begin with, keep at least one smart device (Laptop/Mobile) ready to register with the QHHS device.
  • Keep user details ready to proceed with activation. Ensure that the details are correct and do not require to be changed in future.
  • The serial number is a number that is printed on the back of the QHHS device.
  • User is not supposed to enter the serial number anywhere during registration.
  • The Serial number is stored in the Quick Heal activation server database that is triggered when the device is activated.
  • Switch on the QHHS device.
  • Connect the internet cable to WAN Port or USB Modem to USB port.
  • Search and connect to HS-Unbox SSID from available Wi-Fi networks from your mobile phone or laptop.
  • To connect with HS-Unbox, enter the password printed on the back of the QHHS device.
  • Access the link https://myhs.quickheal.com on internet browser of the connected device. The License agreement screen is displayed. Read the license agreement carefully. If you are registering the device on your mobile, do it using the QHHS app.
  • To accept the license agreement of the QHHS services, click I Agree. Click NEXT.
  • Network Setup Window appears, select the type of internet connection you are using, Internet Modem (Cable Connection/USB Modem) and click NEXT.

  • On Product Registration Window, enter the user details with which you wish to register QHHS device and click NEXT.
  • Before submitting the details that you provided, review the summary. If you want to modify any details click BACK, else click SUBMIT.
  • Please stay connected to the internet until the activation process completes. (On completion of the activation process, a message appears.
  • The license validity for your QHHS device is also mentioned.
  • After activation, you need to configure Home Network Setup.
  • Ensure your Internet connection is up and running.
  • Internet cable should be connected to the WAN port of the QHHS device.
  • If you have an ISP provided router, confirm with your Internet provider whether its MAC address is bounded. If yes, remove it with the help of your ISP and retry to activate the QHHS device.
Note: The MAC Address of the QHHS device is available on the back of the device.

Once the QHHS device is registered, it does not need to be registered again. Only reactivation is required.

You can use the registered copy until the validity of your license. After the license expires, you need to renew the license for your QHHS device.

All updates and upgrades are free for registered users until the license is valid.

Serial Number is available at the back of the QHHS device.
You can also obtain the Serial Number from your QHHS Web Portal with the help of the following steps:

  • Log in to the QHHS Web Portal at myhs.quickheal.com.
  • Click on Information Section (User Icon) in the top right corner.
  • Click About Us and then click the License Details button.
  • Open an internet browser on your laptop.
  • Run the link https://myhs.quickheal.com on the browser.
  • Enter the user name as admin and the password set by you during the activation process of the QHHS device.
  • Click Login.

Dashboard

The notification pane is displayed on the upper-right corner of the dashboard. It includes Home Security Update Details that indicate the status about security and firmware updates. It also includes internet connection details, notifications, and informative section (About Us, Help, Support and Logout).

QHHS Web Portal supports the following types of notifications:

  • Home Security Update Details: Indicates the status about security and firmware updates.
  • Security Updates: Shows if security updates for QHHS are available.
  • Firmware Updates: Shows if firmware updates for QHHS are available.
    If the update is available, the Update option appears. To update QHHS, click Update.
  • Internet connection details: Indicates whether the internet connection is available.
    Green icon indicates that the internet is available. Red icon indicates that QHHS is not connected to the internet.
    Internet connection details dialog includes information about how long the internet was up, and shows the IP Address, Default Gateway, and DNS server.
  • Notifications: The notification bell is visible only when any notification is available. Notifications show if any device is pending for approval, if you exceeded internet usage, and so on.
  • Informative section: This section includes the following information:
    • About Us: This section displays the current product version, product license details such as serial number and MAC address of the QHHS device.
    • License Detail: With this option, you can view the license agreement and license validity.
    • Renew Now: With this option, you can renew the license of Quick Heal Home Security.
    • Help: Displays the online help of QHHS.
    • Support: Displays the options to contact with the Support team.

The dashboard of Quick Heal Home Security displays how much internet data has been consumed, Websites accessed by the home or guest users or the connected things, and security status.

  • Home Devices are those devices that are allowed to connect to the QHHS router. Such devices are considered private.
  • Guest Devices are those devices that are allowed to connect to the QHHS router via Guest SSID for a temporary period.
  • Dashboard is the landing page of the QHHS web portal. From here, you can manage the QHHS router, connected devices, home/guest internet, IoT devices, and view reports.
  • It displays the summary of internet usage and the websites accessed by devices.
  • Log in to the QHHS Portal.
  • On the dashboard, select Total Data Used to view the complete the details or from dropdown, select Internet Data Consumed (During Billing Cycle/Today).

Configurations

  • Method #1: Adding a device from dashboard
    • Users with valid password can connect to the Home Network SSID and the admin has to allow them from the QHHS web portal. Unless the devices are allowed, they cannot be able to connect to the QHHS router.
    • On the dashboard, click Pending Home Devices list. The list of the devices that tried to connect to your network is displayed. You can allow or disallow the request for the devices.
    • Allow: Click this option to accept the device request and provide QHHS access. You are directed to the page where you can add the new device.
  • Method #2: Adding a device manually
    You can add a new device manually to your Home network. After a device is added to the trusted list, it will start using the home internet on the device through the QHHS router.
    • Log on to the QHHS Web portal and click the Devices menu.
    • In the Identify a device for your home network section, click the Add Device button. The device categories page is displayed.
    • Select whether the device is an interactive device or a connected thing.
    • Type the Device Name and MAC Address, and then click Next. The Configure device access restriction page is displayed.
    • Configure necessary restrictions wherever required and click OK to finish.
  • Method #3: Adding the device from the Declined Home Devices list
    • Log on to the QHHS Web portal.
    • Click the Devices menu and then click Declined Home Devices. A list of declined devices is displayed.
    • Click the Allow button available next to the device that you want to allow access your home internet. You are directed to the add devices page.
    • Follow steps from IV to V from Method #2 to proceed further.

Guest session allows QHHS internet access to the guest devices. You can add a guest session and give permission to multiple devices to access the home network. Also, to have a restricted internet usage, you can allot specific time period after which the guest session will no longer be accessible.

Adding guest session

  • Log on to the QHHS Web portal and click the Devices menu and then click the Allow Guest button. The Set up a Guest Session page is displayed.
  • Enter the guest session name in the Specify session name text box.
  • Enter the guest session password and then confirm the password.
  • Specify the number of devices that can connect to the guest session. Drag and adjust the bar or directly add the number of users in the text box.
  • In the Specify guest session validity section, select the required options:
    • Permanent: Select this option to allow permanent internet access to the devices of guest session.
    • Valid up to: Select this option to provide internet access to the guest devices for specific number of hours. Select the number of hours from the options list box.
    • Valid up to a specified date and time in the future: Select this option to provide internet access to the guest devices for a specific date and time in future.
      Select the date from the calendar and mention the timing. To save the settings, click Next.
  • Internet settings page is displayed. Apply the internet access policy as required.
  • If you do not apply any restrictions, all the devices of guest session will have no restrictions. To save the settings, click Save.
  • Click Setting > Network on QHHS Web Portal.
  • Select Configure Home Network LAN to setup Home Network.
  • Enter the Home Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID), Password, and then confirm the password.
  • For Guest Wi-Fi Network, enter the Guest Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID). All the authorized guest devices will use this Wi-Fi network. You can also disable the Guest Wi-Fi Network not to allow any guest device to your network.
Note: After updating the Home network LAN, you may need to reconnect the Wi-Fi devices.
While configuring Guest Session, admin can specify guest session validity.
  • In the Specify guest session validity section, select Valid up to and set time limit as 2 hours. To know more on adding guest sessions, refer How do I add Guest Session in the preceding section.
  • Log on to the QHHS Web Portal.
  • Click the Devices menu and click Allowed Home Devices.
  • Select the appropriate category from the list, such as All Devices, Connected Devices, Disconnected Devices, and Connected Things (IoT devices).
  • You can allow or block internet access to a device by using the toggle bar under Internet Allowed.
Yes, it is possible. To restrict the websites by categories,
  • Log on to the QHHS Web portal.
  • Click the Devices menu and then click the Add Device button under a network and then select the device type.
  • Enter the Device Name and MAC Address, and click Next OR click on the existing device name. The Configure device access restriction page is displayed.
  • Select the option Restricted Access and click Next. The Internet Access Restrictions page is displayed.
  • Select the Restrict web content by category check box and click Next.
  • Select Social Media web category from the list and deny access to this category using the toggle bar.
  • Click on Save.

You can block other categories such as Adult, Porn, Gaming, etc. in the same manner.

  • Log on to the QHHS Web portal.
  • Click the Devices menu and then click the Add Device button under a network and then select the device type.
  • Enter the Device Name and MAC Address, and click Next OR click on the existing device name. The Configure device access restriction page is displayed.
  • Select the option Restricted Access and click Next.
  • Select the Limit Internet data usage check box. On the Limit Internet Data Usage page, enter the following information:
    • Enter the usage limit in MB or GB in Specify usage limit (download + upload) text box.
    • Select the period for data usage limit from the available options such as Daily, Weekly, or Monthly as required.
    • Notify about Internet usage:You can set the notifications to receive when the internet usage limit exceeds. The options are as follows:
      • Notify when usage reaches 80% of the limit: Select this option if you want to receive notification when 80% of the set internet usage limit is reached.
      • Notify when the usage limit is reached:Select this option, if you want to receive the notification when the set internet usage limit is reached. Specify an action to be taken when the allowed limit is reached. The available options are as follows:

        Block Internet: Select this option, when you want to block the internet access as the set Internet usage limit is reached.

        Allow additional grace data: Select this option to set a grace internet data usage, which the user can use even after the set internet usage limit is reached. When the grace internet data is consumed, the internet access will be blocked. Enter the grace internet data in MB or GB. Click Save.

This happens when user tries to connect the device to QHHS Device SSID but admin has not allowed it. In such scenarios, admin needs to Allow this request from Pending Device list available on the dashboard of QHHS Web portal.

  • Admin can click on the notification icon or view the Pending Home Devices list to get more information about the devices that try to connect to QHHS.
  • To authenticate a device, click the Allow button available next to that device.

You can add your email address to receive notifications about internet data usage.

  • To add or change the email address to receive notifications, log on to the QHHS Web portal.
  • Click the Settings menu and then click System. In the E-mail id for notifications section, add the email address and click Save, or click Edit, add the email address, and then click Save.

QHHS provides multiples security features to keep connected devices/things safe and secure from online threats:

  • IPS/IDS: With this option, you can configure the intrusion detection and prevention for all Home and guest devices. Use the toggle bar to enable or disable the intrusion detection and prevention. By default, it is turned on.
  • Device to Device Access Restriction: With this option, you can restrict the connected things from communicating with one another. Use the toggle bar to enable or disable the device to device access restriction. By default, it is turned on.
  • Browsing Protection: Browsing security provides a complete protection from cyber threats. It protects your devices from various kinds of malicious, phishing, and fraudulent attempts. Use the toggle bar to enable or disable the browsing protection for malicious websites. By default, it is turned on.
  • Phishing Protection: Phishing protection prevents phishing attempts and restricts the devices from accessing the phishing, fake, fraudulent websites. Use the toggle bar to enable or disable the phishing protection. By default, it is turned on.
  • Log on to the QHHS Web Portal.
  • On the dashboard, view Webpages Accessed. You can view the total number of visits to the Web pages by all home or guest users or connected things.

User can add any interactive device as IoT and any connected things as home device. QHHS does not automatically detect whether it is an IoT device or interactive device.

  • Log on to the QHHS web portal at - https://myhs.quickheal.com
  • Confirm the status of DNSSEC feature. Make sure that DNSSEC is turned OFF.
  • Try to access websites now.
  • If the issue persists, follow these steps:
    • Press the WIN+R key from your keyboard, type NCPA.CPL and click OK in the run window.
    • Network connection window appears.
    • Double-click the QHHS Wi-Fi network connection and then click properties.
    • In Properties, double-click the Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPV4).
    • Select Use the following DNS Server address and enter ISP provided DNS IP or you can also put 8.8.8.8.
    • Save your settings. Now, you can access websites.
    • You can keep DNSSEC feature disabled after setting static DNS on the connected devices.

QHHS App

QHHS App is available to download from Google Play store. Open Google Play and search QHHS App. Install QHHS App on your smartphone.

Displays the following information:

  • The Internet status.
  • The Internet usage of Home/Guest/Connected Things.
  • The list of websites and intrusion attempts blocked by QHHS device.
  • Open QHHS App.
  • Tap Devices.
  • Tap Add Device and select the type of device. Devices may be either interactive such as PC, tablet, smartphone, iPad, or IOT such as smart TV and smart AC and so on.
  • Specify the Device Name and the MAC Address of the device.
  • Tap Next. Apply restrictions if required. Tap Next.
  • Tap Save to save the settings.
  • Open QHHS App.
  • Tap Devices.
  • Tap Add Guest.
  • Specify session name, session password, number of devices allowed to connect, and guest session validity. Tap Next. Configure device restrictions if required and tap Next.
  • Tap Save to save the settings.
  • Open Wi-Fi Setting from Device.
  • Select Guest Wi-Fi Network name from available Wi-Fi list.
  • Enter Identity mentioned in the created Guest Session.
  • Enter password for the guest session.
  • Connect to the Guest Wi-Fi network.
  • Open QHHS App.
  • Touch the Menu > Network Settings.
  • Change, add, or modify Home Wi-Fi network name and password as required.
  • Click Save.
  • Open QHHS App.
  • Touch Menu > Network Settings.
  • Turn off Guest Wi-Fi Network by pressing a green button.
  • Click Save.
  • Open QHHS App.
  • Tap Devices.
  • Under the Device menu, Pending Devices, Allowed Devices, Guest Sessions, and Declined Device options appear. You can use them as required.
