Quick Heal has been using dual (SHA-1 &amp; SHA-2) code-signing for its products.<\/p>\n<p>According to an <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/topic\/2019-sha-2-code-signing-support-requirement-for-windows-and-wsus-64d1c82d-31ee-c273-3930-69a4cde8e64f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announcement<\/a>, Microsoft will no longer allow certificate providers to issue SHA-1 supported certificates. The SHA-1 hashing algorithm used for code-signing of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickheal.co.in\/home-users\">Quick Heal products<\/a> will expire on June 4, 2021, and we will use new credentials that only support the SHA-2 algorithm.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 27px;\"><strong>What will be the change in Quick Heal products?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>All new software packages, hotfixes, or security patches of Quick Heal products created after June 4 2021 will use only SHA-2 Certificate for code-signing.<\/p>\n<p><em>Please note, these changes do not affect any user experience and if you regularly <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.quickheal.com\/quick-heal-supports-windows-10-version-22h2\/\">install Windows updates<\/a>, you do not have any action item.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 27px;\"><strong>What do I need to do?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Please find below the action items that are needed to be performed on specific operating systems:<\/p>\n<div><strong>1. Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 &amp; Windows Server 2008 R2<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Apply MS Patches <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/search.aspx?q=KB4474419\">KB4474419<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/search.aspx?q=KB4490628\">KB4490628<\/a> if not already installed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"pb-0 mb-0\"><em>How to check if the required MS Patch is already installed or not?<\/em><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ml-5\">\n<li>Open Control Panel<\/li>\n<li>Go to Windows Update<\/li>\n<li>From the Windows Update page, click on \u2018View Update History.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"mt-3\"><strong>2. Windows 8 &amp; above<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>No action is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"mt-3\"><strong>3.\u00a0Windows Server 2012 &amp; above<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>No action is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"mt-3\"><strong>4. Windows XP &amp; Windows Server 2003<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>No action is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"mt-3\"><strong>5. Windows Vista<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>The latest Quick Heal products and feature updates (fixes and enhancements) code-signed with SHA-2 will not be supported.<\/li>\n<li>Users will continue to receive only virus definitions.<\/li>\n<li>We recommend customers having Windows Vista upgrade to the latest operating systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"mt-4\"><strong>Recommendation<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>We recommend using the latest version of operating systems to avoid the risk of exploits targeting vulnerabilities of the operating system.
