This post explains the steps to be taken to resolve this issue.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #006bb2; font-weight: bold;\">Problem description:<br \/>\n<\/span>A certain group of Quick Heal users have reported that their computer tends to freeze\/hang up after restart. The problem occurred after users received the update that was released on 14<sup>th<\/sup> March 2016 at around\u00a09:08 PM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Symptoms:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Computer freezes while booting and a black screen appears.<\/li>\n<li>In some cases, the user is able to boot the computer and the desktop is loaded. But, the system freezes when any operation is performed like clicking on the Start Menu or My Computer, launching Windows Explorer, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #006bb2; font-weight: bold;\">Affected users:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Quick Heal AntiVirus Pro (v16.00)<\/li>\n<li>Guardian NetSecure (v16.00)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Except the ones listed above, all other Quick Heal products are unaffected.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #006bb2; font-weight: bold;\">Affected language version:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #006bb2; font-weight: bold;\">Affected Operating Systems:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows 7 and above<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #006bb2; font-weight: bold;\">Solution for affected users:<br \/>\n<\/span>We recommend users to follow the steps mentioned below:<\/p>\n<p>If system is not at all usable you can try starting the computer in <strong>Safe Mode<\/strong> and implement the steps below. In this case, you will need to download the ZIP file (DisableARW.zip) on some other computer and transfer it to the affected computer using a pen drive, etc. If your system is functioning normally, then the below steps can be implemented in normal mode.<\/p>\n<p>1. Click on the link below; this will download a ZIP file named \u201c<strong>DisableARW.zip<\/strong>\u201d:<br \/>\n&gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/dlupdate.quickheal.com\/tools\/DisableARW.zip\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/dlupdate.quickheal.com\/tools\/DisableARW.zip<br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\n2. Go to the location where the file <strong>DisableARW.zip<\/strong> has been downloaded. Right click on it, to <strong>extract<\/strong> it to any temporary location<\/p>\n<p>3. After extraction, you will get a file named \u201c<strong>DisableARW.REG<\/strong>\u201d. Double click on it.<\/p>\n<p>4. Click <strong>Yes<\/strong> to the confirmation message displayed by Registry Editor.
