In cases where running a scan and deleting the malicious program from the PC also does not help, we recommend the resetting of web browsers completely. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.quickheal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/mozilla-firefox.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.quickheal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/mozilla-firefox.png\" alt=\"mozilla firefox\" width=\"650\" height=\"337\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-79790\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This process was recently undertaken by me when I accidentally downloaded and installed a malicious adware that installed several unwanted programs like TornTV Downloader, Omiga Plus and SearchProtect. These unwanted programs took over my browsers and refused to go away even after I carried out complete system scans, repairs and even removed the programs from the Control Panel.<\/p>\n<p>What ultimately helped solve this issue for me was resetting my browsers. The steps for this are mentioned below with screenshots and directions for the same. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #006bb2; font-weight: bold;\">How to reset Google Chrome:<\/span> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on the three horizontal bars at the top-right corner of your Chrome screen.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <b>Settings<\/b> option.<\/li>\n<li>Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on <b>Show advanced settings<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on <b>Reset settings<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>In the window that opens, click on <b>Reset<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Your Google Chrome is now as good as new.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/slidesha.re\/1F573NY\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.quickheal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/button2.png\" alt=\"google chrome button\" width=\"204\" height=\"38\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-79824\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #006bb2; font-weight: bold;\">How to reset Mozilla Firefox:<\/span> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Activate the Menu Bar on Firefox by pressing <b>F10<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <b>Help<\/b>, which is the last option in the Menu Bar.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <b>Troubleshooting Information<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <b>Refresh Firefox<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>In the window that opens, click on <b>Refresh Firefox<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>You will now see a window which says your process was successful. Click on <b>Let\u2019s go<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Your Mozilla Firefox is now as good as new.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/slidesha.re\/1E3fcid\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.quickheal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/button.png\" alt=\"firefox button\" width=\"200\" height=\"42\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-79796\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #006bb2; font-weight: bold;\">How to reset Internet Explorer:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on <b>Tools<\/b> in the Menu Bar.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <b>Internet Options<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>In the window that opens, choose the <b>Advanced<\/b> tab.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <b>Reset<\/b> button.<\/li>\n<li>In the next window that opens, click on the <b>Reset<\/b> button.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <b>Close<\/b> button.<\/li>\n<li>You will now need to restart your machine for the changes to take place.<\/li>\n<li>Your Internet Explorer is now as good as new.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/slidesha.re\/1F4sxul\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.quickheal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/button1.png\" alt=\"internet explorer button\" width=\"207\" height=\"42\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-79813\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>You should remember that resetting web browsers does not necessarily solve all malware or <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/1wYstqx\">popup related issues<\/a>. However, sometimes it is a worthwhile step that can actually solve issues in a simpler way. Resetting browsers also removes all settings, plugins, add-ons, browsing history and other configurations since it is as good as starting with your browser from scratch. So be prepared to reconfigure these settings once the reset has been completed.
